There are many great hardcore labels out there: Drive-Thru, Vagrant, Triple Crown, but lately, The Militia Group has been running away with the talent. Their latest release from the band Copeland, Beneath Medicine Tree, combines beautiful melodies with the wonderful voice of front man Aaron Marsh. The quartet utilizes the traditional punk/emo instruments, guitar, bass, drums and also adds piano and organ into the mix.

This indie-rock quartet from Lakeland, Florida, started turning heads in 2000 with the release of their split with indie/glam rockers Pacifico. They soon caught the eye, or should I say ear, of the The Militia Group and were signed in 2001. Copeland released Beneath Medicine Tree in spring of this year and have since been touring relentlessly. And thatís nothing new for this well-traveled band. Give Copeland a spin and keep an eye for them as well as other bands on The Militia Group. They are surely headed for big things.
